Golden Teeth

July 27, 2020
*sigh* where to begin.... well we went to a member's house this week to help her move. She has an unholy amount of stuff so it's been taking a while but we were going through a box of things and she's like oh my golden teeth are in that box! Tell me if you find anything. So we continue going through the box and I'm sooo glad that we didn't find anything. But that still means that two golden teeth are somewhere in her house. Idk where but they are there.
We also made a facebook timelapse video and that was fun. It took forever and we ended up trashing our apartment creating it Haha. But it was worth it.
We went to the gardens again this week. We signed up to volunteer on Tuesdays too so now we go Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Apparently there was a hurricane here in Texas that no one told us about so that happened. We are safe. We were in our apartment and there was a ton of rain. That was about it for us. I would've taken my plants in if I had known it was a hurricane! My poor plants probably got destroyed in that weather lol. I'm growing a bunch of sunflowers and succulents. Hidden talent. I have a green thumb
So my district is all english speaking missionaries and my comp is 2 weeks into the mission and so no one knows spanish and so I've been teaching Spanish to 6 missionaries this week. They all do duolingo and I teach them what they don't understand or want to know more about. Of course my comp hna eagar knows way more then the others because we are constantly speaking it and talking to people but I have become a spanish teacher don't worry I know I am far from perfect when it comes to speaking spanish. We have lessons with this one family every week and they make fun of my spanish. They correct me and stuff and help me learn but they definitely make fun of me. We have a good friendship. A couple of the elders in my district served in the Philippines and speak tagalog and they are teaching me tagalog so we all end up teasing each other on how bad we speak other languages
Whenever we text old investigators we always share that we can find Christ during the storms and then we relate it to the storms of life and such. And with the hurricane and rain we would share that even though the skies are dark and it feels like everything is dark and gloomy, Christ is still there and as we focus on him the storms disappear. It may be hard right now with covid and everything but as we focus on christ we can find peace and tranquility in the storms
