Golden Teeth

July 27, 2020 *sigh* where to begin.... well we went to a member's house this week to help her move. She has an unholy amount of stuff so it's been taking a while but we were going through a box of things and she's like oh my golden teeth are in that box! Tell me if you find anything. So we continue going through the box and I'm sooo glad that we didn't find anything. But that still means that two golden teeth are somewhere in her house. Idk where but they are there. We also made a facebook timelapse video and that was fun. It took forever and we ended up trashing our apartment creating it Haha. But it was worth it. We went to the gardens again this week. We signed up to volunteer on Tuesdays too so now we go Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Apparently there was a hurricane here in Texas that no one told us about so that happened. We are safe. We were in our apartment and there was a ton of rain. That was about it for us. I would've taken my plants in...

Training!

July 20, 2020 Training here in Texas is WAAAAYYYYY different than my training in Chile. We easily have 1 or 2 two hour training a day I swear. It seems like we are always in a meeting with either the mission president or the assistants to the president. It's a lot of meetings! We pay attention I swear but we definitely doodle a lot during them. I got the office job of posting on our Facebook's page story everyday! So if you want to see something uplifting and fun follow us as Seguidores de Jesucristo en el Oeste de Houston. I'll put something new up usually around 8:30 Texas Time. This week we volunteered at the Japanese gardens and we gave someone a book of mormon there! We were pulling weeds and this lady walks by talking to some kids in spanish so I start a conversation with her in spanish and it took off from there! She was very interested in learning more but she was moving and such so we gave her our information and hopefully she reaches out. long story short we...

I'M TRAINING!

July 13, 2020 What! Yes! Ok so I got a call from President Thursday after noon and he asked if I would train one of the new sisters coming into the mission! I don't know who I am training yet or anything else, I just know I'm training. I pick her up at 6:30 so I'll tell y'all next week what her name is and such. This week was pretty hectic, we spent a lot of it cleaning and packing and getting Hermana Jorgensen ready to leave. She was an amazing companion but she served her 18 months and now she's headed home. She left this morning at like 4 A.M. so I've been staying with some other sisters. We had an awesome transfer together. This week we found a new place to volunteer and do service! The Japanese Gardens. It is the coolest place to walk around. I don't even know how to describe it, it's breathtaking. So we volunteered there on Thursday and we spent two hours cutting this huge bamboo forest thing and such. I got hives from it but it was sooooo ...

GREBY GOT BAPTIZED

July 6, 2020 This weekend we had a wonderful baptism for Greby our 10 year old friend. But the real story happens before the baptism. We knew no one had been in the church for a while so we thought that we should probably go clean the baptism font but we were not prepared for what was to come. THE BAPTISM FONT WAS FILLED WITH SPIDERS AND COCKROACHES. My soul died that day. We walked in and there were hundreds of spiders and dozens of cockroaches dead and alive. It was bad. So we got our brooms and started smacking everything in sight. We may or may not have screamed a couple dozen times. It was a little rough. After an hour we finally clean one side of the font. ONE SIDE!! Three hours later we finally finished cleaning the church. We had to clean both the men and women's bathroom which were also filled with hundreds of spiders and cockroaches. We also may have screamed some more. But everything was ready for his baptism! The baptism was amazing! The spirit was so strong and ...
