I'M TRAINING!

July 13, 2020
What! Yes! Ok so I got a call from President Thursday after noon and he asked if I would train one of the new sisters coming into the mission! I don't know who I am training yet or anything else, I just know I'm training. I pick her up at 6:30 so I'll tell y'all next week what her name is and such.
This week was pretty hectic, we spent a lot of it cleaning and packing and getting Hermana Jorgensen ready to leave. She was an amazing companion but she served her 18 months and now she's headed home. She left this morning at like 4 A.M. so I've been staying with some other sisters. We had an awesome transfer together.
This week we found a new place to volunteer and do service! The Japanese Gardens. It is the coolest place to walk around. I don't even know how to describe it, it's breathtaking. So we volunteered there on Thursday and we spent two hours cutting this huge bamboo forest thing and such. I got hives from it but it was sooooo much fun. I got to use big boy tools hahahaha
Jackie came to church! Jackie is a person of Interest who wants to learn more about the church! She has a baptism date for August 29th so we have a lot to prepare her for and not a lot of time.
We had a pizza party with one of the nicest neighbors you can possibly have. Her name is Gwen and she is our Mom away from our Moms. She's not a member of the church but she has one of the strongest testimonies of faith. She knew Hermana Jorgensen was leaving so she bought us some pizza and soda and a toooooon of cookies. We shared our testimonies with her because she wanted to hear them and she ended up crying from them so who knows, maybe Gwen will get baptized.
I'm loving the mission right now, even if it is in quarantine. I'm doing my best to be positive and help others. The joy we feel in our lives has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives -Russell M Nelson
I know times are tough right now and it's hard to see an end but with faith we can find hope and happiness. I know that this weeks come follow me is alma 32 which is Aaaaalllll about the parable of a little seed. As our faith (a seed) is tested and tried (pandemic) (storms and winds) it will grow as we nurture it.
Love you all! Hope you are safe!
