I'm a professional

January 25, 2021 Another week come and gone! This week we went to a lady named Heidi's house and we helped her with her yard! When I saw we helped her with her yard.... we did some work on it. *photos below* we pulled tons of weeds, carried huge rocks and laid down mulch. We got very dirty and it was a lot of work but the yard looks great! The quote of the day from that experience was "hey we aren't professionals but we're free." She loved how her yard turned out and now she is telling everyone that we are her professional sisters in christ yard people. We had exchanges this week and Sister smith came to my area! We explored Cullinan park and got attacked by ducks. We had a blast that day sadly we didn’t see any alligators at the park *cullinan park is known for having alligators at it* A member made us breakfast and it was amazing! She made us pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs. Best breakfast I have had in a long time. I can easily make those things I...

Dance like no one is watching

January 18, 2021 Good time of day to anyone reading this! We went to drop off a book of Mormon and when we called up to the house there was a big party going on and it was blasting music. No one could here us knocking or ringing the doorbell so we had a dance party while waiting for someone to hear us. Eventually someone heard us and we dropped off a book of Mormon. :) We went to sonic and they also blasted music while we ordered food so we had another dance party. You can never dance too much. So we went to a park to talk to people and I saw this lady who was dancing to music by herself so we walk up to her and ask her what song she is listening to and she's like I speak Spanish and we are like DOPE US TOO! so she unplugged her headphones and started playing salsa music and she proceeds to teach us HOW TO SALSA DANCE! it was probably the best 30 minutes of my life. We set up a time to meet with her again and read the bible! Wow something good can come out of my cringe danc...

A week of ups and downs

January 11, 2021 I first want to send my condolences to elder Jake smith and his family. I didn't know jake that well personally but I did talk to him a lot at school or church functions so it was hard for me to hear of his passing. He always said hi to me and was so nice to everyone. He was an example of Christlike love. We are praying for him and his family here in Sugarland! We had exchanges this week! Most of our lessons fell through so the day was spent eating lasagna and brownies. :) We went bowling this week with the other sisters in our zone! I bowled a solid 106. Not too shabby for not having been bowling in like 2 years. Everyone in our ward is sick with covid so at church today we gave talks and led the music last minute! Good thing I'm good at coming up with stuff on the fly. A member gave us a goodie bag filled with candy and treats and gift cards for subway and Wendy’s! I'm soooo happy!!! We helped our friend Heidi organize her house we basically...

Cityslicker to Cowboy

January 4,2021 New Area! So after 5 transfers in Houston I'm leaving for Richmond. Well I'm supposedly in Richmond but I live in Sugarland so yeah. I'm with Hna Lister! She is amazing. She served in Chile as well but she served in Rancagua. We bond a lot over our time in Chile haha. We had a good first week here. Lots of calling and driving to explore the area. We are definitely in the country side I went from city slicker to cowboy over night. We mostly have farms, fields, and an unholy amount of cows in our area. Good news is that means everything is really green and beautiful! We did service at a lady named Heidi's house. She had sooooo many Christmas decorations. It was crazy! She had a 6 foot tall nutcracker and like a dozen more 2 foot tall ones. While we were taking the decor down outside, it was muddy and she didn’t want me to get my shoes muddy so she made me take off her shoes and she gave me her flip flops! I'm a size 9 shoe size and hers were li...
