The Black Eyed Peas

August 17, 2020
First off, I don't have covid! I was just fat sick :) I've gotten over the fevers, sore throat and ear aches but I've still got migraines that make it kinda hard to work. I'm still trying my best to be positive and look for the good times ahead.
Even though I was sick, I went to the Zoo. Sister Allen's birthday is coming up so we all went to the Zoo to celebrate! There was no one there. It was a ghost town so it made the zoo very fun because we practically had the whole zoo to ourselves. My favorite part was the snakes. They had these huge 11 foot long snakes in this huge building. I enjoyed it alot.
We met a girl named Paola. She is amazing! We started teaching her this week and we've basically called her everyday this week and taught her. She loves the church and the gospel and we are hoping that she will accept our invitation to be baptized!
So it wasn't the actuall Black Eyed Peas like the band. We didn't listen to boom boom pow or I got a Feeling. (Those are songs by the band Black Eyed Peas). We were given a bunch of black eyed Peas by the master gardeners at the garden center we volunteer at and told to cook 'em up so we did. We put them in some chicken broth with bacon, onions and some seasonings. We simmered them for 3 hours and they turned out sooooo good.
We had exchanges this week, exchanges are weird now. We do it over zoom so I went in one room and she went to the other room and we had exchanges. Pretty whack.
Training is going great! We still have lots of meetings every week.
We met some neighbors in our complex and they saw us playing board games once at a park bench and now we do game nights with them! It's a good way to get out of the house and meet people.
We made a spanish version of the Book of Mormon throwing video and a tagalog version and the bloopers are hilarious haha. We can't speak tagalog for the life of us.
A scripture that we've been sharing a lot this week is Moroni 10:4-5 by the power of the Holy ghost, ye may know the truth of all things. As we have faith and a sincere heart and true intentions when we pray, we can receive help and answers to our questions and problems. He is always there and listening. He knows what we are going through and he knows exactly what we need and when.
Just trust in him and his tithing. Everything is happening in our lives for a reason.
