The Joys of Life
September 28, 2020
Wow a lot has happened this week! On Tuesday and Wednesday we had Tropical storm Beta hit us. As the lord says "If ye are prepared ye shall not fear!" We were ready! Extra food and water. We didn't need to use any of it but we were prepared so we didnt worry!
This week we focused a lot on following the prompting of the Holy Ghost. We got to have a devotional from Meg Johnson. She talked about how she follows the Holy Ghost and never delays a prompting no matter how weird or embarrassing it is. She said, I would rather be embarrassed than wrong and miss my chance. You never know what impact your actions have.
We were driving down the road and I look over to see a guy in his car looking really sad and stressed and I remembered Megs promise to herself that she would rather be embarrassed than wrong and I felt like I needed to say hello so I rolled down my window and waved hello. He was about to roll down his window and than the light turned green so I guess I'll never know what will come of that experience but we had a good laugh after because it was sooooo awkward. You can count the seeds in an apple but you cant count the apples in a seed. Not sure why he needed a wave but I hope it helped him!
Zone conference!!!!
Literally peak of my mission, not really but really though. We went to Minute Maid Stadium for zone conference! For those who have no idea what that means/is, it's where the major league baseball team The Astros play. It's a huge and famous stadium here in Texas.
We focused on being positive and finding the joys in life! We talked about different ways to be excited for the work and what that may look like. With missionary work being so different than before it's hard to see the point of it all. It was so much fun to finally be around other missionaries and have some social interaction.
I'm terrible buuuut the best part of zone conference was when we got to go onto the field! We took tons of photos on the field. Also for those of you who dont know my mission president is a former major league baseball pitcher so when I got to be at an MLB stadium on a MLB field taking photos with an MLB pitcher it was awweeeesssooommme.
Since this week was all about focusing on the good things in life and blessings, here are some little joys that I saw this week.
1. A letter from my little sister
2. The elders in our district giving us cookies and putting 1/2 of salt in one of them to prank us.
3. The rain! I love the rain and it brought nice and cool weather!
4. Alma 32
5. Paolas baptismal interview! She has such a strong testimony and she gets baptized this Friday!!! October 2nd at 4 pm Texas time!! I'll send the link once I get it!
6. Cleaning the church. Paola came and helped us and she was hilarious while doing it. I've never seen someone so happy to clean toilets.
7. Thrifting, oh boy there are some weird clothes
8. ...... pig ears. We were given soup from a friend and it was filled with pig ears! We were like full send let's eat one to see what it tastes like. Dont eat it. Just.... dont....
Well I know that life isn't always easy but as we get up each day with purpose and confidence that it will be easier to endure the trials and to keep moving forward! The blessing of being faithful during hard times will rain down. It may look like gray skies overhead but god has blessing on the way. He knows what you are going through and what you need right now but as Ether says "a witness comes after the trial of your faith"
Keep moving forward! -meet the robinsons
