Ants in my... dress???

October 19, 2020 I really need to do the highlights this week to focus on the good. This week ended on a very low point.
I'll start with the low point and end with the good.
Idk how but I accidentally stepped on an ant hill and I was covered in ants in seconds. I was bit all over and it hurts to move. Everything itches all the time. My feet got bit the worst and they are very very swollen from all of the bites. I've been icing my feet and such to try and get the swelling down. Any ideas? It's been a rough past couple days since it happened. I'm not kidding I seriously cant move and wearing shoes hurts a ton. I cant even wear my jandals my feet are so swollen from bites. Well..... that's where I'm at.
Ok now to put that in the past and to focus on the good!
Weekly highlights!
1. Hna Suarez brought us an unholy amount of food!
2. My dad sent us pizza!
3. I worked 50 hours at the gardens and got a pin!
4.we gave Rhonda cookies!
5. We were an answer to Hna Ochoa's prayers
6. We started a boo!
7. Church!
So as you all know I volunteer at a place called Hermann park conservancy and once you reach 25 hours volunteering there you get cool name tag *not like I already have a dope black nametag* and then at 50 hours you get this cool acorn pin. So I've got 50+ hours so I got a pin!
Bless you dad! Thank you so much for the pizza! We all enjoyed it a ton!
So Saturday night was pretty eventful. We were delivering cookies to some members that we knew were struggling or sick and couldn't make it to church. We dropped off cookies to Hna Ochoa and she didnt answer the door so we headed back home. On the way we saw Rhonda! She is the mail worker in our apartment complex that we have been getting to know these past couple weeks. The best is everytime we see here she's like oh you got mail today! Or sorry girls you dont have any post cards today. She sounds very disappointed and sad when we dont have any mail. Anyways we walked up to her and she was talking to a guy and she stops talking to the guy looks at us, looks back at the guy and says... these two girls are my favorite here! *wipes away tears* it was amazing. Well then we pulled out the cookies and she was like what!! Cookies! Yall really are my favorite now. Well after that hna Suarez gave us an unholy amount of mashed potatoes, meatloaf, salad and bread. Like..... enough to feed like 6 or 7 people. It's a ton of food.
Well we still had tons of cookies leftover so we started a boo! A boo is where you give people cookies with a note that's like you've been boo'd! Pass it forward and give 2 other people treats and such. Well we started it in our apartment complex and now we wait.
So later after we got home from hna Ochoas' house and we ate hna Suarez's food and we talked to Rhonda, hna ochoa called us back! She said that she had been struggling that day and was praying for help and low and behold not 1 but 2 companionship of missionaries reach out to her. Us and a pair of elders called her and she was sooo happy that we called.
So on Sunday at church a non-Spanish member came and visited the ward and idk why but I was chosen to translate for her. We sat down and everything is good right? Wrong-ish. First off I was sooo surprised on how well I translated. It was really good. I could understand everything and I am glad that had that opportunity to show off my spanish skills. But secondly our area seventy came and talked to church! It was all fun and games till he realized I was a missionary. He's on the stand, points right at me and is like the hermana translating to that lady, come up here and bear your testimony so me being a good missionary I went up and bore my testimony on families and jesus christ in front of 2 stake presidents and their counselors, the area 70 and our bishop and half the ward..... it was a good time. Afterward the 6 other missionaries in my ward were like thank you for taking one for the team hna Crandall! Oh yeah my pleasure for sure.
So that was my week. An emotional rollercoaster of good and bad things. Still hurting a ton though but we all have trials for a reason in our lives and having dozens of ant bites is one of mine. Each trial we have is for a specific reason. God knows what we can handle. One time during the mtc I was really struggling and an elder saw me crying with my comp so he came over with his comp of course and said this to me. I don't know what you are going through, but god knows how much you can handle but he is giving you a lot more so you will have to rely on him to do the rest. I've kept by that quote from that elder everyday of my mission. God knows exactly what I am going through and he is giving me more so I will have to rely on him. I know my patience and faith is being tested everyday in every moment but I dont need to fear or worry because I have a firm foundation in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I love you all! I hope you guy's week was a better than how mine ended! I had really good moments during the week it was just the end that was hard.
