How does one fake their death?
Nov 2, 2020
Serious question... how do you fake your death? Well our friend ephino did not tell us the answer.
Hna Eagar and I were walking around a park just talking to people and stopped and talked to a man named Ephino (I think that's his name, not sure) and he started going off how he doesnt have papers to be here in america and me being me was "GOOD NEWS you dont need papers to talk to god or come to church!" Lol he was like true I dont. But idk what happened afterwards but he started going off how he isn't legal in america or mexico and I asked if he was from mexico and he said yes but not anymore. He started telling us that he faked his death in mexico and he is legally dead there and he moved to america 27 years ago and now he wants to move back to mexico and be legal again. Idk how that works but boy was I sooo confused the entire time. Then he sang us a song he wrote that he heard an angel whisper in his ear while he was asleep. Over 10/10 great guy and an even greater conversation.
Highlights!
1. The dope chocolate cake we made. That thing will add ten pounds to you just looking at it.
2. This upcoming week on Nov 5th I will have 1 year in my mission! Wow time has flown.
3. Memorial park!
4. Zone conference
5. Tomales from Maria
6. The worst cookies ever
So we made a facebook video of us making chocolate cake hahah it was just something silly we threw together. The cake is really good though.
Memorial park! There is this huge forest park here in houston and we went hiking there for P-Day last week. And by we I mean only Hna Eagar and I. The rest of the district had other plans for p-day so we went hiking by ourselves. Right of the bat we saw not one but TWO armadillos and a huge barred Owl. After that we didnt see like any animals but it was a fun first 5 seconds after leaving our car. Oh we also saw a HUGE snapping turtle. It was just gliding along the bottom of the pond and I happened to spot him. The hike was really fun.
Zone conference! It you want to sit 6 hours in a chair with no breaks go to zone conference. 🤦♀️ we were supposed to start at 2 but there was a miscommunication and no one came till 2:45 ish so we started late and presidents idea was to just cut out the breaks to end on time..... I did learn a lot though. We really focused on working with members and helping them support our new friends who are interested in the church.
Our member friend Maria gave us 16 tomales!!!! Not that I'm complaining. They were probably the best tomales I've ever had. Like *chefs kiss* they were so good. She also had this salsa to put on top and she was like oh it's not spicy at all you will both be fine. LIES oh my goodness it was burning my mouth the instant I tasted a drop. Hna eaga has a super high tolerance for spicy foods and she was dying too.
So the worst cookies ever. The elder jones (an elder in my district) got a package from his sister 3 weeks late and inside were like 40 cookies. So he shared them with us. I happened to be the first one to take a bite and that thing was sooo hard and brittle it crumbled to the floor the instant I took a bite. We were all dying laughing and decided to throw away the cookies. I'm sorry elder jones's sister.
Well this week was great! I learned a lot about patience and how you cant control everything and what you can control be happy that you can control it. We have things in our lives for a reason and those things will most likely teach us patience. I'm so grateful to be out here in texas. Hope you all are doing good!
Be safe!
