Eating Chex Mix in the dark

I don't even know where to begin. This has been one of the craziest weeks of my mission. I guess I'll just go day by day.
MONDAY:
We got about 1/2 an inch of ice which completely shut down all of Texas. We were given stay at home order and we weren't allowed to drive or go anywhere. We were stuck in the apartment all day. We lost our water in the morning but thankfully we got it back by that night.
TUESDAY: this is where things get crazy
So a couple of pipes in our complex burst during the night and set off all of the complex fire alarms at 3A.M.!!!! Picture a school fire alarm and times that by 10x and that's the complex fire alarm. I'm terrible. Once I saw that it was 3 a.m. I went back to bed. I was like I better see the flames at my bed side for me to leave the apartment in 12 degree weather. Luckily it turned off and we were sent an email that it had been a couple of pipes bursting. Then the fire alarm went off again in the afternoon and this time I did leave the apartment but the hallway lights were out and our apartment complex quickly turned into a horror movie. The hallways were pitch black and every 2 seconds the alarms would sound and flash. I would describe it as the upside down from stranger things. It was terrifying and needless to say I ran soooo fast out of the apartment. luckily we had power and water most of the day but we lost both that evening.
WEDNESDAY:
We woke up to pitch blackness. No one had power or water. we couldn't open the fridge in fear of letting the coldness out so we ate dry chex mix cereal while playing card games. Unfortunately my phone had died in the night and Sister Willits phone was about to die but we luckily called a member (The Wilsons) who said we could come over and stay with them. They had power and water so that's why we went over. It was so much fun! We spent the entire day playing games and eating food. We made tons of cookies to give to members who were having a hard time with the storm. We spent the night at another members house since our apt had gotten down into the 50's rip us
THURSDAY:
We thankfully had power and water by midday but now we are under the boil water notice. Thursday was a normal day again but most people still didn't have power or water so its been rough trying to get in contact with people.
FRIDAY:
So because the power went out, our food went bad. Luckily we were given extra funds to go shopping. Most of the stores here have been cleaned out. there isn't a whole lot left in the stores. So we went to walmart because we heard they had a lot. While we were getting our food the fire alarm goes off! so it goes off and everyone starts screaming and all the workers are screaming at us to get out. I ditched our cart, grabbed sister willits and sped walked out of there soo fast. it was very hectic. Don't worry mom, I didn't scream 😂
Saturday and Sunday were normal but this week between the rolling blackouts and losing water power it was a pretty adventurous week. I quickly came to realize how grateful I am for the things I have. It's easy to take advantage of everyday things. We don't realize how good we have it until we don't have the things we need to survive. I am so grateful for the things that our heavenly father has given us. I saw so many miracles this week, from people reaching out to us to make sure that we were safe to people buying food and water for those who lost everything because of the power outages. I hope everyone is safe! Remember to give thanks for the things that you have!

April 5, 2021 Hello! This week has felt like 3 weeks. It's been a long one. Not much happened so it's been pretty boring but here are a few of our adventures. We helped make an Easter Video for our facebook page. We helped out at our ward Primary Easter Egg hunt. One kid went hunting before it even started and took all of the eggs! So hna Ralphs and I successfully took his basket and hid all the eggs again 30 seconds before the hunt started. We were able to talk with a ton of ward members at the Easter egg hunt and meet so many members who had gone off the grid when covid started. It was a fun time! We watched conference! We were able to go to a members' home to watch it. While there, their huge cat came and sat on my notebook and on me and wouldnt move. Their cat was sooo sassy and kept walking all over our notes. April 12, 2021 Well.... I'm going to have to be rolled off the plane in three weeks from all the food that we were given. Here is a list of everything that we were given this week 1. Chick-fil-a meals 2. Cinnamon Rolls 3. Baked spaghetti (enough to feed 15 people) 4. 15 Rolls 5. Caramel Cookies 10x 6. Hamburgers 7. Brownies (I say brownies but it was a brownie cake thing) it was cookie dough with oreos on top, with brownie batter on top of that, topped with chocolate chips, topped with icecream. 8. A Watermelon 9. An unholy amount of grapes 10. A huge amount of grilled chicken 11. 10 huge oranges 12. A huge pan of Grilled Broccoli 13. Mashed potatoes 14. A ton of pork 15. even more gravy 16. French fries 17. A giant Easter Egg filled with candy 18. And a cookie whipped cream salad. (I dont know why it's called a salad because one bite from that thing will kill you.) I got bit on the behind by a dog

March 2, 2020 When you think you’ve hit rock bottom, you can only go up right... wrong. I can’t remember my favorite lines from the Grinch. I’m devastated. It was terrible. I was quoting the Grinch because the moment was right and I couldn’t remember the quote and now I eat brownies to drown my sorrows. IM NOT ACTUALLY SAD IM OK. This week was really good! Here is the update with our investigators. Augastina her baptism fell through because her mom has to keep working on her baptism it's very hard to get in contact with her mom. Augastina is a 9 year old girl who is very good! Alfred BAPTISM DATE! We taught Alfred about baptism after church this Sunday and he wants to get baptized! He is very excited. April 11th. We know it is very far out but there is a language barrier. He can only speak creole, French and a little Spanish so it takes a bit to explain everything and we want to make sure he understands everything.
